We received some exciting news this morning – the upcoming Bluetooth low energy wireless technology specification has been chosen by health care industry coalition Continua as its choice for wireless technology.  This means Bluetooth low energy will be part of Version Two of Continua’s Design Guidelines. This news is significant for two reasons – 1) it underscores the excitement and need for this upcoming Bluetooth wireless standard in the personal telehealth arena, and 2) it solidifies the choice already made by Continua to back Bluetooth technology (the Bluetooth Health Device Profile is the only wireless technology specification included in Continua’s Version One Design Guidelines).

We are thrilled about this news and look forward to continuing our relationship with Continua members and supporting this group with our state-of-the-art qualification and testing programs. 

I also want to take just a moment to say a big “congratulations” to the Bluetooth SIG low energy team – they have dedicated countless hours working on this specification (and they aren’t done yet).  It is a huge vote of confidence in the work they have already done that Continua is directing its constituents to use this specification – we will not let them down.
