Pardon me. My definition of a patent troll is some entity that develops patents solely for using them to hold companies hostage and extorting money out of them. They don't manufacture any products themselves and just sit on the patent until some company walks into its trap. Then they initiate a lawsuit for XXX millions of dollars and then sit and wait for the next victim.

If this definition doesn't sit well with you, perhaps the Wikipedia definition might be better:

Patent troll is a pejorative term used for a person or company that enforces its patents against one or more alleged infringers in a manner considered unduly aggressive or opportunistic, often with no intention to manufacture or market the product.
