I saw on this forum there was an issue a couple years ago. Is it still unresolved? Presently, with the standard ethernet shield (made by Arduino) plugged in, it seems thatthe LR freakduino isn’t working.

The ethernet shield should work with the freakduino. It used to have problems with it when the ethernet library did not protect the SPI transactions from interrupts. When the radio interrupted in the middle of an ethernet transaction, then it would cause data collisions. Since then, the Arduino team has decided to protect SPI transfers from interrupts on the ethernet library which solves the problem.
