Expertise and Capabilities
Hardware Design & Engineering
Our extensive hardware design and engineering experience covers research and development, developing technical specifications, schematic design, PCB design and layout, and FPGA design. Our programming expertise allows us to develop robust embedded firmware and protocol stacks, ensuring high performance and reliability of our devices even in the most challenging environments. We specialise in customised rugged enclosures with IP65 or above rating, that can survive harsh environments. Our mechanical capabilities include CAD mechanical design, procurement and manufacturing.
Wireless Communications
Our expertise incorporates local wireless protocols, cellular technologies, and non-terrestrial (satellite) networks to provide wireless communications for any environment. We’ve been working in wireless communications since 2002, contributing to industry standards, working on large scale networks such as smart grids, and authoring numerous publications and articles on various wireless technologies. With decades of experience in wireless communications and sensor networks, multi-hop routing software, and field deployments in harsh and rugged environments we ensure data is delivered reliably to the internet.
Manufacturing and Production
Our manufacturing processes ensure high-quality products that meet the rigorous demands of long-term environmental monitoring and field work. Our in-house assembly line allows quick, cost effective prototyping and small batch manufacturing to get prototypes into the hands of beta users early or cater to niche applications. For mature technologies we bring expertise in cost down roadmaps, procurement, supply chain management, scaling and factory connections for various manufacturing processes, mainly focused on electronics and outdoor ruggedised equipment.
Actionable Data
We create reliable back-end systems that handle the data generated by our devices reliably. Our platforms are designed for scalability, security, and efficiency. When needed, the data collected by our devices integrates into third party software and existing IT workflows. Tapping our network of domain experts and in-house data visualisation specialists, we utilize advanced data processing, industry know-how and visualization capabilities, to transform raw data into actionable insights. Our tools help conservationists, researchers and make data-driven decisions to enhance their efforts.
Capacity Building
For technology to have the most impact, we believe that those who use it, need to understand how it works, how it might be adapted and how to maintain it. This includes training and advice on building technical knowledge and capability to ensure the technology remains effective. We provide technical auditing and due diligence, assessing and providing advice on appropriate technology for the required outcome, and the social, economic and deployment conditions in which the technology needs to work. We also explore how partners can leverage the supply chain and manufacturing eco-system to scale and ensure the long term development and maintence of the system. Throughout the technology development, we emphasise understanding and capacity building so our partners have the technical confidence maintain or adapt their systems as they need to.
