About

At FreakLabs, we’re passionate about wireless and it’s potential to help know more about our environment. We’ve done work in the Himalayas to monitor water supplies, in Japan to monitor radiation levels, in Egypt to monitor sanitation levels and illegal dumping, and founded Hackerfarm, an experimental farm to monitor and instrument agricultural crops.

We believe in the DIY approach to monitoring your own environment and that you ultimately know exactly what you need. That’s why all of our designs are open source and we try to provide the tools and educational materials you need to tailor things to your exact application.

The more you know, the more you can take care of our environment, whether that’s home safety, agriculture, water, or anything you’re interested in monitoring. Let us help you understand your environment.

We develop boards and systems that allow you to

We also collaborate on interesting projects with like-minded organisations, NGOs, researchers and individuals.

We’re interested to collaborate with field experts in conservation, indie and organic agriculture, basic infrastructure for rural and remote areas, crisis and disaster response, and books and boardgames.

What we do

OUr experience and expertise covers concept to design to prototyping to testing to production manufacturing to API development.

We can adapt existing designs, create completely new designs, take ideas and concepts, features and functionalities and apply what we know to make it work, make it usable and make it affordable.

Who we work with

We work with organisations and individuals of different sizes and expertise within our fields of specialisation.

We’ve wored with teh providing consulting services and developing proof of concept systems, with IRRI to adapt and make an existing more robust and reliable, wildlife conservationist to adapt existing products to their needs, and

The best results come when expertise, skills and experience combine to develop something with meaning. We’re interested to collaborate with field experts in conservation, indie and organic agriculture, basic infrastructure for rural and remote areas, crisis and disaster response, and books and boardgames.
